What should I expect to be the hardest part of my recovery following my hip replacement surgery?
The hardest part will probably be gaining physical capabilities you havenβt had in years. Many people are just happy to get their hip replaced and be able to do the things they used to do immediately before the replacement but now can do it without pain. Our goal is for the patient to think back years ago, before they had pain and regain that level of fitness. The reason it is hard is because a lot of people donβt ever think they will get back to that activity level. It just takes time.Β How far were you hiking? Or dancing? Or golfing?Β Were you riding your bike further?Β Were you doing other things?Β You can regain a higher level of fitness you havenβt had in years.
